Brendan Craig MOREY was born on 19 October 1971 at Kaitaia, New Zealand.  He was the son of Ernest MOREY and his wife Maria May (nee SUBRITZKY).  He enlisted into the New Zealand Army on 3 March 1990 as a Territorial soldier and was posted to No. 1 Platoon, 3rd Auckland and Northland Battalion, RNZIR.  He attended the 79th intake of Territorial Recruit training at Waiouru Training Depot during the March-April period of 1990.  On completion of his recruit training he applied for transfer to the Regular Force and was accepted

He is entitled to the New Zealand Defence Service Medal with bars for TERRITORIAL and REGULAR service.
