Theo George Subritzky was born on 421 October 1923 at Te Kopuru in Northland. He was the son of Captain Herbert William Subritzky and his wife Ena De Vera (nee Davenport).
He stood 5 foot 8 inches in height with brown hair and brown eyes and prior to his enlistment was employed as a sailaker in Auckland. He enlisted in the New Zealand Army on 2 March 1942 as a Rifleman and on completion of his recruit training was posted to the 2nd Battalion of the Auckland Infantry Regiment serving at the following Army camps during World War 2: Paihia, Russell, Auckland and Papakura. He was discharged on 17 August 1945 on completion of his term of service.
Theo George Subritzky was awarded the following medals: War Service Medal 1939-45, New Zealand War Service Medal.
