This book also contains a section called 'The Scows Graveyard' which contains a complete nominal roll of all of the old time trading scows which were built in New Zealand in the last century. SUBJECT : The history of New Zealand' first Polish family the Subritzky's and contains a host of the early history of the settlements of Nelson, New Zealand in the 1840's, the history of the Victorian gold rushes that took place in Australia in the 1850's, the history of the historic Australian town of Maldon, and the history of the establishment of the various settlements in the Far North of New Zealand. The book also contains the history of several other historic New Zealand families including the Hansens, Matthews, Puckey, Evans, Wagener and the "Whakapapa" (geneology) of the three Northernmost tribes of New Zealand Maori's. Another famous Northland pioneering family that is mentioned in this book is that of Captain William James Lloydd; an American seafarer who's forebears (Cowles, Andrews, Adkins, and Barnes families) were the first American pioneers to settle in the rugged wilderness of Farmington and Hartford, Connecticut in aprox 1570. This book was written as an official project for New Zealands Sesqui Centenial in 1990.
